# What is a Growth Engine?

A Growth Engine finds the companies worth reaching, researches and ranks each one against who the business sells to, and keeps the state of every conversation so nobody is contacted twice. It follows up on schedule until a call is booked or the thread closes. OCTYN runs its own outbound on one.

## How it is built

- **find**: Public records and signals, read for the companies that fit.
- **filter**: Rows not worth the research are dropped before any is spent.
- **research**: Each company that remains is researched and its contacts found.
- **rank**: A score anyone can read, against who the business sells to.
- **follow through**: One state per thread, so nobody is contacted twice, until a call is booked.

Boundary (one state per thread): It never contacts the same person twice: every thread has one state.

## What Growth Engine does at OCTYN

OCTYN’s own Growth Engine reads public licence registries for trades businesses, drops the rows not worth enriching before any network call, then searches out a website, an email and a phone number for each one that remains.

Every lead carries a score anyone can read, and the state of every thread is kept in one place.
