CompareOCTYN vs
MoveworksChecked
Moveworks alternatives for a company with no ticket queue to clear.
Moveworks alternatives make sense when the hours you want back go to clients, such as a coordinator piecing together a client's history from email and WhatsApp before ringing them. An enterprise that wants one assistant across IT, HR and finance, especially on ServiceNow, should pick Moveworks.
OCTYN and Moveworks, side by side
| What it comes down to | OCTYN | |
|---|---|---|
| How it starts | A mapping call, then a paid Consult that maps the work, measures a baseline and ends in one fixed quote. | A demo, or a talk with a Moveworks expert. Its FAQ says many organizations see value in 6 to 8 weeks. |
| Who does the work | The people who map the system build it and run it. | Built in use cases ship ready. Your developers make more in Tool Studio, and its services team can build specific ones. |
| How it is priced | One fixed price for the build, in writing, after the Consult, then a monthly fee to run it. | By quote, requested from a Moveworks expert. Their site does not state an amount. |
| After launch | OCTYN runs it and keeps it current, and sets it again when the company changes. | Your program owners manage it in Admin Setup. A support package adds a designated Forward Deployed Engineer for guidance. |
| Who owns it | Your data, specs, configuration and code. | You own your Customer Data and Moveworks owns its products, per its customer agreement. |
| Best for | An established company whose team does the same work by hand every week. | Enterprises wanting one assistant for every employee to search and act across business applications. |
A password reset may be the tidiest job in any office. Somebody asks, the answer is known, one system changes and the ticket closes. Moveworks started on that kind of request: its about page says the founders saw excessive time lost to routine support requests, and its FAQ still names reduced IT and HR ticket volume first when it explains the return. So before weighing Moveworks alternatives, check whether your lost hours sit in that queue at all. At a coaching practice they often sit elsewhere, with a person rereading a client's messages before ringing back, and nobody files a ticket for that.
Moveworks, in its own words
The home page calls it the AI Assistant platform for your entire workforce. The FAQ's examples are password resets, expense report submissions, meeting scheduling and document retrieval. ServiceNow acquired Moveworks in late 2025, and the page for ServiceNow customers describes the two working as one, while the CEO's post on the deal told independent customers they would keep the full assistant. Across these pages, the person being served is an employee.
| What you get | What its pages say |
|---|---|
| Assistant and search | Hundreds of built in use cases, in over 100 languages |
| Your own agents | Tool Studio for developers, including agents that run without a prompt |
| Implementation | A designated Implementation Manager and Implementation Engineer |
| Ongoing support | A support package adds a designated Forward Deployed Engineer |
| Ownership | You own your Customer Data, Moveworks owns its products |
| Price | Request a quote. Their site does not state an amount. |
How the alternatives differ
Assistant features already inside your software are the first thing to try. The FAQ draws the line itself: those work within one system, Moveworks across all of them, so a company living mostly in one system may never feel the gap. Another enterprise assistant is the nearest swap if you want the same shape from a different seller. Your own engineers can write something, and the upkeep then lands on them.
OCTYN is the last kind: a system built around how one company runs, then run by the people who built it. It suits work that reaches outside the company. One design, drawn for a health coaching company and not built, would put each participant's messages, calls and sessions on one screen and draft the next nudge. Nothing would reach a participant until the counsellor approved it.
When Moveworks is the better choice
Moveworks is the better choice when employees across IT, HR and finance keep asking for things a system could finish, and more so if ServiceNow already runs your service desk. Its FAQ lists FedRAMP, SOC 2 Type 2 and several ISO certifications. The pricing page mentions packages for all stages of business growth, and the home page quotes CVS Health and Toyota North America.
OCTYN is the wrong call when that queue really is the problem, because a product already built for it is the better buy. It is also wrong for a company too early to have an operation, and for a buyer choosing on price.
How OCTYN works
OCTYN is an intelligent systems firm. Work begins with a mapping call, then a paid Consult that maps and measures the work as it runs today. The Consult closes with one fixed price for the build and one monthly fee to run it, in writing, or with word that nothing is worth building. After launch the same people keep the system current. The page on what a system gives back counts the hours from your own numbers.
The client who rang at nine still has no ticket number.
Weighing OCTYN against Moveworks? Bring the work you want built.
The first conversation is with the people who would build it. If there is a fit, the Consult comes next.
