CompareOCTYN vs
UiPathChecked
UiPath alternatives for a company that wants the robots built and looked after.
The UiPath alternatives that matter turn on who builds the robots and who looks after them. An enterprise with its own automation program, and people to write and govern the robots, should usually stay on UiPath. A company that wants the work built around it and kept running should look at a system run by the firm that built it.
OCTYN and UiPath, side by side
| What it comes down to | OCTYN | |
|---|---|---|
| How it starts | A mapping call, then a paid Consult that maps the work, measures a baseline and ends in one fixed quote. | Start building on the Free plan, or take a sixty day free trial of Standard. Standard is priced through sales. |
| Who does the work | The people who map the system build it and run it. | Your own team builds the logic, or UiPath Professional Services or a partner from the UiPath Partner Network. |
| How it is priced | One fixed price for the build, in writing, after the Consult, then a monthly fee to run it. | A Free plan, Basic at a listed monthly price, and Standard and Enterprise priced through sales. |
| After launch | OCTYN runs it and keeps it current, and sets it again when the company changes. | The platform handles governance, retries and production. Professional Services says it stays by your side after implementation. |
| Who owns it | Your data, specs, configuration and code. | Their site does not say. |
| Who it is for | An established company whose team does the same work by hand every week. | Enterprises and the most regulated industries, by the about page. The pricing page says businesses of all sizes. |
Ask a finance lead which task they would hand to a robot first and the answer comes quickly. It is usually the invoice that arrives as a PDF and gets typed into the ledger by somebody who stopped reading the numbers some time ago.
The slower question is who builds that robot, and who looks after it when the supplier changes the layout of the PDF. Weigh UiPath alternatives by that second question first.
What UiPath says it does
The home page calls UiPath one platform for business orchestration and automation, where agents and robots work alongside people. It draws the line plainly: you build the logic, and the platform handles governance, retries and production. The about page says modern enterprises and the most regulated industries run on it.
The pricing page sets out four plans.
| Plan | What the pricing page lists |
|---|---|
| Free | free forever, with help from the community forum |
| Basic | a monthly price, personal automations, limited users and robots |
| Standard | priced through sales, with a sixty day free trial and agents included |
| Enterprise | everything in Standard, plus self healing UI automation and your own encryption keys |
For help, UiPath Professional Services offers advisory work and training and says it stays by your side after implementation, and the partner network lists firms that build on the platform. On UiPath, your team, UiPath or a partner does the building.
How the alternatives differ
The usual lists under this search name other automation platforms. If the platform is what you want to change, compare platforms and keep your own builders. Hiring a UiPath partner keeps the work on UiPath and moves the writing outside.
The third kind changes who carries the work. A system built around one company's work is run by the people who built it, which is what OCTYN does. In one OCTYN system, a breaker stopped a campaign on 11 September and nobody noticed for three days. Every engine now writes to one ledger, and a tripped worker appears in the morning brief.
When UiPath is the better choice
UiPath is the better choice for an enterprise that wants an automation program of its own, with people inside it who build the robots and govern them. The about page says the platform is used for the processes enterprises depend on most, and the Standard trial gives a team sixty days to test that before buying.
Regulated work is another good fit. The home page describes a record of every action and decision that a regulator can read. OCTYN is the wrong call for a company too early to have an operation to map, or one whose whole need is a robot keying one form. Try that on the Free plan first.
How OCTYN works
OCTYN is an intelligent systems firm. Work begins with a mapping call and then a paid Consult, which maps the work as it runs today, measures a baseline and ends in one fixed price for the build, in writing, with a monthly fee to run it afterwards. The map is yours whether or not OCTYN builds it. The people who map the system build it and keep it running, and your data and code stay yours. For a back office that means an operations system; the page on what a system gives back counts the hours from your own numbers.
The supplier will change the PDF again, whichever way you go.

The first conversation is with the people who would build it. If there is a fit, the Consult comes next.
